ten terrific tuesday tidbits

  1. Tuesdays include easy classes, work, friends, Glee, Overflow, BFF. All GREAT things in my book, so tuesday is ALWAYS a terrific tidbit in my books.
  2. I talk about them all the time, but tonight the Cube girls reminded me why I love them. We laugh together often, cry together sometimes, and dance together always.
  3. View tonight was exceptionally awesome. God is alive and real. The song "Inside Out" gives me chills every time. Cal would most definitely give that a fist pump/pelvic thrust.
  4. Funfetti cake is perfect for every occasion, including Mondays. The Cube ate an entire cake with one fork in under 24 hours.
  5. My dorm is only clean for about 5 hours every monday, but it doesn't matter because my wonderful roommate doesn't care, and her side is typically just as destroyed.
  6. I am going with about 20 other people to Stillwater tomorrow night, and that means BFF, worship, and always enjoyable car rides.
  7. I got to see friends this weekend, and that made the sad Nebraska weekend MUCH better.
  8. After waiting my whole life, I am a proud Rainbow in the sisterhood of Gamma Rho.
  9. I have big plans to make dinner with Cal at some random friends apartment. I will do the cooking, she will provide the entertainment.
  10. I am joyful. I am finding contentment in my circumstances. I have friends and a family that love me, and I feel God's presence, and I am preparing for Him to do something BIG.
Tuesdays are the greatest.

Oh what a beautiful morning....

is in fact a bold faced lie.
When is a morning ever beautiful?
It's miserable getting out of bed, getting dressed, and then going to face the world,
especially when you get no sleep, or your bed is oh so warm and snuggly while the room around you is so very cold.

But sometimes, the world is fair.
you might be getting up to see one of your best friends in the whole world:
Example A:

Then other times, it's not the getting up early that is the reward.
It's the staying up and loving the people you are around that makes the terrible morning that you will have to face worth it.
Sometimes, you are saying "Oh what a beautiful morning" because you know that you get through the tough times to get through the best parts of life.
Example B:
Sisters that you don't see as much anymore but still love.
Ridiculous girls that have your back and know your emotions because they feel the exact same way.

The reasons you don't get to sleep until 3 something in the morning.
Those people that mean too much to explain, and are always there to pick up right where you left off.

So maybe tomorrow I will wake up and I will sing the lyrics from "Oklahoma!" and remember that this is the day that God has made for us to love him, and He has put so many things in the mornings to love us too.

A personal favorite...

I love reading Leah's Thx Thx Thx blog. She is funny, sarcastic, and (obviously) thankful.
All three of those things are pretty high up on my list of excellent characteristics.

Ooooooh college.

I love college.
Is that a song?
Maybe some trashy rap song?
Anyways, I love college.

Pictures?
Deal.
Also, I have no idea why this is underlined.... Sorry.
Great great great roommate. Love this girl.

One of my favorite picture of EYW.
Two of the best girls in the whole world. For real though. I love these two.
This is totally normal for us.
The greatest tie-dye ever got turned into a deep-V. Uhg.

EYW- Basically camp on steroids for freshmen.
SO MUCH BETTER as staff. Loved it.

Meeting new friends- Excellent.
Becoming friends with people that I had met but previously thought were the worlds biggest tools. -Even better.

Rushing a club- Um. Different blog post.

That's all for now.

I understand your jealousy....

I would also be jealous if I were you.
It's not my fault I get to live in the

BEST

HALL

EVER.

This pretty much sums up what I expect my life to be like this year.
Hallie, Callie, and KP are unlike any other girls you will ever meet.

Sarah is beautiful, funny, and sassy. All things I aim to be.

Bahaha. Jenna and I bring the best and worst out of each other.
She is one of the smartest/sweetest people I know, however, so it is probably yours truly that is the bad influence in the friendship...
(*Not sure why the pics with Sarah and Jenna are both at banquet-- they are just so classy)

This is one of my favorite pictures of my life. This will be year 2 for Katie and I as neighbors, and it will be wonderful.
I feel like Kaci needs no explanation. We have had an instant connection ever since she trusted me with her debit card the first day we met.
And then there is precious, wonderful, amazing Suzanna. She hates this picture. I love it. Truth be told, when I grow up, I want to be just like her.
And Hallie.
If it weren't cheesy, I would do some weird acronym thing to tell you about her, but like I said, that would be weird. So instead, I will give you the rundown...
Name: Hallie
Job: My roommate
From: TN
Loves: Africa
Everything I just mentioned is part of the wonderfulness that is Hallie!

I could go on and on and on about my wonderful hall-mates, but I don't want to bore you with the details. The important stuff, like late nigh escapades and microwave fiascos, are all worthy blog material, and must be saved for a later date.

**Side note: There are more girls on our hall, including the lovely Ali who for some reason I am not friends with on facebook, so no pic for her. And Bonnie, Alex, and Kara, who I am so excited to live by, but don't have any pictures with! But more to come from them, I am sure**

Over $700....

a) is the amount of money I will be handing over to the bookstore.

b) is the amount of money I will be wasting because half our classes "require" you to buy the books but then never use them.

c) is the amount of money I wish I had to spend at tax-free weekend.

d) all of the above.

Meh-hi-coh

SURPRISE!

I went to Mexico with one of my fave youth groups ever from Bentonville, Arkansas.
(Don't judge them because they are from AR. They are actually quite nice)

I loved it.

Here was the way it worked:

  • Left OKC to go to Dallas, after making $300 for taking a later flight. Thank you, American Airlines for sucking and overbooking your flights.
  • Once in Dallas, I (sneakily) got off the plane, and walked out the gate, just in time to see my friend Brady standing in line.... Here is how the conversation went...
Me: Oh, hey Brady!
Brady: NO WAY!
(Hugging)
Brady: What are you doing here??
Me: I'm going to Mexico with you guys!!
Brady: (In complete seriousness) No you aren't.
Me: Uh..... yeah I am.... Seriously.
(More hugging and screaming)
  • Then I ran into the rest of the group, and there was more screaming....
  • We boarded the plane, and Brady and I made some guy move so that we could sit together. It was magical.

  • So we got to San Diego, got on a bus, and headed to Mexico. That is where the real insanity started. DIP BONG.
  • Once we got to the hotel, we discovered Danielle and I were roommates. Perfect! The view from our window OBVIOUSLY included a cerveza stand.

  • There was obviously pretty views too, haha
  • This is the butcher.... And when I say the butcher I mean he was a boxer and they called him the butcher. Awesome.
  • The group we worked with was so great.

And now for pictures with the occasional comment.

Bryan marched to his own drum. We loved him, and according to all of his kisses, he loved us too.
I spent most of my time with Megan, Zach, Joel, Jordan, and Max. Some might have called us an elitist clique, but I would not.

Below is a picture of Mexican Happiness, people.
I mean the kids are obviously the best, but give me a manzana lift and some galletas, and I am a happy person.
This is the Hamburger.
We really called him Hamburguesa.
He also looks like an Ewok from Star Wars.
I know you can see it.
Hamburguesa, Joel, and I were great friends.

I mean, come on. How is that not 100% excellence?

These two girls that look absolutely crazy are some of my favorites.
Who would not want to hang out with J and M, who can have huge arguments about the bed sharing skills or lack there of. Then the next minute, they are besties once more. mean discussions, about who stole the be
Martin is a handful, and apparently I have a laze eye.

This was right before security came. Oh gosh.
  • All in all, it was a fun, amazing, too short, wonderful, splendid trip that I got to spend with fun, amazing, too short, wonderful, splendid people. Well I guess the people weren't too short.
  • So that's the story of my great trip that I had to leave two days early to go back to a horrible camp, but that is for a different blog.

To leave you, enjoy these videos of Bryan. He is great.
